Clarity Conference 2 - Clarity and Obscurity in Legal Language

In July 2005, Clarity held its second international conference at the Université du Littoral Côte d'Opale in Boulogne, France. About 160 people from 30 countries attended. Over three days, we had two sessions running at most times, and we provided simultaneous translation for many of them. Photos and papers from the conference appear in Clarity 54, and a few more in Clarity 55. Read the complete program in French or in English (pdf).

Noteworthy among the papers are one on Clarity's founding by its founder, John Walton, and a series of unique "masterclass" drafting exercises in which three experts working from the same set of instructions prepared a Noise Bill and a Queues Bill.
